About eHerkenning

EHerkenning is an initiative of the Dutch government, developed in collaboration with the private sector in what is also known as public-private participation.

EHerkenning is a vital component of the digital society. It is part of the government’s basic infrastructure, with around 500 affiliated service providers and 13.3 million logins every year.

The requirements and agreements for the suppliers of eHerkenning are laid down in public-private governance. The service providers, suppliers and users are all represented within this governance.
